FPP Delegates Report March 6, 2011 The spring FPP delegates meeting was held on March 6, 2011 in Ocala, FL First, things that are due no later than June 1st:
Request for Merit Forms by December 1st Guilds that have good speakers should be known to FPP so that they can be put on the FPP website. Names of speakers and their programs were discussed. New rules for salon and print display will be coming out soon. Digital will be the norm’. Print display will be from 16x20 – 24x24. Really! Inter guild will be the top 4 images from the top 4 photographers. Getting the word out to the public was discussed, same ideas we have. Not for profit airtime should be taken advantage of. Rolling convention fee into membership dues was talked about. Judges qualification was discussed. Some have only ONE merit to their name. Should have at least 10 to be a judge. It was suggested that the affiliate dues should go up by $1.00 per member to keep the awards the same, now the dues would be 50% higher. The dues increase was presented to the FPP board and they had a smile on their faces with that suggestion. The board stated that they had talked with the company about cutting down the cost of the awards. They said to have them made of partical board with walnut veneer. I became frustrated because I would have asked if the costs of the awards could be cut before I suggested a due increase. So gang, the dues are going up. After Capture Magazine said “there are 200,000 coming into this industry”. I feel violated. Respectfully,
